Spencer says that he’s currently feeling “pretty good” about games that will be releasing through the summer and early fall. Oddly, that may or may not cover Xbox Series X games. “Games that were targeting a year from now or beyond? There’ll be some impact,” admits Spencer, though he does say that developers will, “be able to react.” To be fair, virtually none of those games have been revealed and those that have likely don’t have release windows, so the public may never realize what’s being delayed....

Specifically, Spencer says that Xbox has plans for “continued sharing through launch.” Which is to say that Xbox will be doing reveals and announcements regularly through launch, likely following its next event. No event has been announced, of course, but there are rumors of something being planned for May. A report by Video Games Chronicle has revealed that the Xbox team will be holding an Xbox Game Studios event on July 23, 2020. Sources claim that the event will feature The Initiative among a star-studded lineup of first-party Xbox studios. The Santa Monica-based development team was founded in 2018 and this would be its first game. However, Microsoft appears to be facing some roadblocks from governing bodies who have shared concerns regarding the impact of this acquisition on the gaming industry. Most recently, the European Commission decided to open an in-depth investigation into Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard. The Commission expressed concerns over the effect this deal will have on competition and it has until March 23 of next year to take a decision. Some Xbox fans feel that the Commission is expressing bias towards PlayStation due to the words used in a specific tweet....

After almost 18 years, the decision to change the name from Xbox Live to Xbox Network came with more promises that the service Xbox fans know and love would go through a major overhaul. While details are scarce, several free-to-play games, like Fortnite, wouldn’t require an Xbox Live Gold pass in the future. Details including the infrastructure, including deciding the name of the various tiers of the Xbox Network or there will be dedicated tiers, are just as scarce....

This past week has been an especially big one for Xbox Game Pass. Not only was it announced that Microsoft is acquiring Activision Blizzard, and therefore bringing the company’s games to Game Pass in the future, but Game Pass also received a whopping eight new titles this week alone. Two of these new Xbox Game Pass games were added on January 18, while the other six were released on January 20....

When gamers are playing Xbox Game Pass games on their Android mobile devices, they can connect a Xbox controller to make it a little easier. There are also peripherals that add control inputs that are not unlike a Nintendo Switch. However, if someone wants to just pull out their Android phone and play Game Pass, they may not have these accessories handy.
