Coupled with the three-hour live Raw event on Monday nights, WWE will have five hours of live coverage each week. Raw and Smackdown will be televised live every week of the year, Variety reported. The move is an effort to capitalize on live event coverage and steer away from viewers recording the show and coming back to it later when results already will be talked about on social media.
Smackdown aired on Friday nights for more than 10 years before moving to Thursdays in January on USA (it previously was televised by USA’s sister station, SyFy).
