Activision has released details and screenshots on one of these playable three characters who will be charged with making the challenging and game-defining decisions of X-Men: Destiny. Meet Aimi Yoshida.

While we don’t know the details of the other two playable X-Men characters yet, if they’re all coming from the same origins of being from an anti-mutant family, Yoshida’s character bio is a good indicator of their age.

Aimi Yoshida is 15 years old, standing at 5'1" and weighing only 95 pounds. As for her powers, that’s up for you to decide in game as you collect X-Genes and define your character’s mutant abilities. Remember, it’s called X-Men: Destiny…

Below are four new screens, featuring Aimi in battle alongside mainstay X-Men characters Gambit and Colossus in their traditional comic book costumes. Think of Aimi and her two counterparts as the latest class of ‘New Mutants,’ with existing X-Men characters acting as their mentors.

Back story: Smuggled out of Japan by her mutant parents before the entire family could be rounded up and incarcerated in the new mutant camps, Aimi arrives in San Francisco hidden on a tanker ship. She is too young and frightened to appreciate her parents’ motivations for sending her away, and instead feels only the bitterness and anger of abandonment.

As with with previously leaked Gambit in-game images, the graphics in these Aimi Yoshida screens are seemingly very dated. While X-Men: Destiny is not a movie tie-in game for this summer’s X-Men: First Class, the quality of the graphics would make you guess otherwise.

We’ll have to wait for the gameplay trailer before we can judge the game, but with the title not letting you play co-op like the X-Men: Legends series, and the game looking far inferior to the likes of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, our expectations are not set high.

X-Men: Destiny hits this Fall for what we expect will be the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii (and 3DS?).
