Truth be told, Xbox has already been doing a lot of celebrating so far this year over its big milestone. From the Xbox webite changing to the Xbox 360 ‘Blades’ dashboard, to a special collaboration with Adidas to make shoes inspired by Xbox’s storied consoles, Microsoft has been revelling in nostalgia, reminding fans of the great times they had on Xbox.

Now, as one of the world’s largest console manufacturers with the Xbox Series X/S, but also a highly pervasive game streaming service in Xbox Game Pass and xCloud, being an Xbox fan no longer requires just playing on an Xbox console. With massive games still to come this year, many of which are Day One titles on Game Pass, everyone can join in.
In a new Xbox Wire post, Microsoft has announced a special 20th Anniversary broadcast fans can tune into on November 15th at 10 AM PT, 1 PM ET, and 5 PM GMT. The stream will be a historical look over both the last 20 years of Xbox and Halo, with Combat Evolved releasing alongside the original Xbox console in 2001. Fans should not expect any new game announcements or reveals during this broadcast, with Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty saying as such. More information about this celebratory stream is coming soon.
This article also serves as a way for Xbox to kickoff celebrations for the next three months on Xbox Game Pass, the headline being “Celebrating Three Epic Months of Back-to-Back Blockbuster Game Launches in Xbox Game Pass.” It begins with Age of Empires 4 on October 28, a long-running franchise that has been invaluable to Microsoft over the years.
November is jammed with games, with Minecraft on Game Pass for PC dropping on November 2, Forza Horizon 5 on November 9, and Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year Edition on November 18. Finally, Xbox brings it home with Halo Infinite on December 8, after three successful test flights.
The value of Xbox Game Pass is still quite hard to fathom, considering all of the aforementioned games will be available just for the price of a subscription. Xbox’s 20 years have been a bit of a roller coaster, with the Xbox 360’s ‘red ring of death’ and the rough launch of the Xbox One being the low points, but the company has made tremendous strides since then. Now it is perhaps the leading advocate for player agency by allowing gamers to play what they want, where they want, and how they want through its variety of platforms and services. These are worthwhile celebrations that Xbox fans should definitely get excited for.
