Microsoft’s last sale was to commemorate The Game Awards, offering discounts similar to the ones that are now available in the Xbox Countdown Sale. The Xbox Countdown Sale does, however, bring a few new additions to the table. Some of the highlights from the sale include 60% off of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gold Edition, 40% off of Back 4 Blood: Deluxe Edition, 35% off of Call of Duty: Vanguard Standard Edition, 40% off of Far Cry 6 Gold Edition, and 50% off of It Takes Two.

At 50% off It Takes Two is priced at $20 until January 2, 2022. This is a solid price for a game that won Game Of The Year at The Game Awards. It Takes Two is a co-op puzzle platformer that has been lauded by many as one of the best co-op story-focused experiences out there. Any gamers that have partners, friends, or family that also enjoy gaming may want to pick up It Takes Two, as the game is a great way to spend time with loved ones over the holiday period.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is also a good option in the sale, as it’s currently hosting its second annual Yule Festival event. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may be over a year old at this point, however, Ubisoft has consistently been adding content to the game via updates. Ubisoft has announced a DLC for the game releasing in March called Dawn of Ragnarok, which is said to add 35 hours of content to the already massive game. For those who have not played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla yet, it might be a good idea to pick it up in the Xbox Countdown sale, as the Gold Edition is currently priced at $39.99.

Fortunately, Xbox is not the only platform offering gamers holiday discounts. PlayStation also offered a sale in commemoration of The Game Awards and is now offering End of Year deals. Gamers seem to have been spoiled for choice regardless of the platform they choose to play on. This is because Sony and Microsoft are offering competitive discounts that will make it difficult for players to decide how to spend their money.
