Most of the posts by Xbox fans about E3 2020 are from people suggesting that Xbox has “won” the event and that Sony is scared of the Xbox Series X. One tweet, from a user named TheRoyalEnforcer, showed a video of the Xbox Series X logo punching the PS5 logo in the face and joked that Sony doesn’t “want the heat.” Another user named Snoopy asked why Sony isn’t bringing the PS5 to E3 2020 to battle the “beast” Xbox Series X and its specs and one named Jordan Middler showed Sony pretending to cut a cake with other gaming companies.

Another popular image was a Photoshopped soldier with a missile gun, turned into Phil Spencer holding the Xbox Series X console. A few Xbox fans also shared an image that turned the E3 logo into “Xbox P3.” There are plenty of laughing images, and a few are finding other people’s responses to Sony funny. It seems that Xbox fans disagree with the suggestion that Sony doesn’t need E3 and that its own PS5 events will be successful without going to E3 2020.
Xbox fans aren’t the only ones with something to say about Sony’s decision not to go to E3 2020. Many are wondering how Sony plans to reveal the PS5. The company has announced an “Experience PlayStation” event and some fans think that this is where Sony could show the PS5 console and announce its release date and price, but nothing has been confirmed.
There are also many posts on social media from people suggesting that the Entertainment Software Association may soon stop holding E3 events. Sony also didn’t go to E3 2019 and it has prompted some to wonder if events like E3 are needed when companies can just make announcements on social media or host YouTube streams.
The ESA has said that it hopes that E3 2020 will be a good time for gamers, but it’s unclear how that can happen when one of the biggest gaming companies won’t be there. That will be something that the ESA will be trying to answer, but for Xbox fans, it seems like there are a few more funny posts to enjoy before they start to think about it.
