This past week has been an especially big one for Xbox Game Pass. Not only was it announced that Microsoft is acquiring Activision Blizzard, and therefore bringing the company’s games to Game Pass in the future, but Game Pass also received a whopping eight new titles this week alone. Two of these new Xbox Game Pass games were added on January 18, while the other six were released on January 20.

Between January 18 and January 20, this past week has been huge for Xbox Game Pass. Here are all the games that were added to Xbox Game Pass this week, including the day one releases.

Xbox Game Pass New Games This Week

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition (Cloud/Console/PC) Death’s Door (Cloud/Console/PC) Hitman Trilogy (Cloud/Console/PC) Nobody Saves the World (Cloud/Console/PC) Pupperazzi (Cloud/Console/PC) Rainbow Six Extraction (Cloud/Console/PC) Rainbow Six Siege (PC) Windjammers 2 (Cloud/Console/PC)

Microsoft started its new week of Xbox Game Pass games off strong on January 18 with the surprise release of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition and Nobody Saves the World, technically two day one games. While Danganronpa has been previously available on other consoles, January 18 marked its debut on Xbox, and as a surprise release at that. Nobody Saves the World, the latest title from popular indie game developer Drinkbox Studios, is a completely original game and an Xbox console exclusive.

January 18 was a big day for Xbox Game Pass, but January 20 was even bigger, and could very well end up being one of the biggest days for Xbox Game Pass in all of 2022 when it’s all said and done. On that day, Microsoft added a slew of new titles to Xbox Game Pass, consisting almost entirely of brand-new, day one releases.

Among the day one games added to Xbox Game Pass on January 20 was Pupperazzi, a relaxing indie game where the goal is to snap photographs of dogs. It was joined by Windjammers 2, the sequel to the fan favorite arcade sports game Windjammers that first released in the 90s. Windjammers 2 is a modern take on the game, adding new bells and whistles to bring it up to today’s standards.

While Pupperazzi and Windjammers 2 have their fans, the headlining new game added to Xbox Game Pass on January 20 is certainly Rainbow Six Extraction. Rainbow Six Extraction is one of the first big budget game releases of 2022, taking Ubisoft’s popular Rainbow Six franchise into some interesting new directions. Rainbow Six Extraction trades the PvP focus of games like Rainbow Six Siege for a co-op PvE experience where players take on alien threats. Rainbow Six Extraction reviews have been mixed, but it’s still a solid get for Xbox Game Pass, especially since it’s a day one game.

Rainbow Six Extraction isn’t the only Rainbow Six game added to Game Pass on January 20. While Rainbow Six Siege has been available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on consoles for quite some time, the game is now finally available to those with PC Game Pass as well. This should ensure that an even wider audience of players is able to get its hand on the game.

The last day one game released for Xbox Game Pass on January 20 was Hitman Trilogy, a collection of the last free Hitman games. While the Hitman games within the collection aren’t new, the collection itself is, and so it still counts as a day one release. Regardless, Hitman Trilogy lets Xbox Game Pass subscribers check out each game from start to finish, adding great value to Microsoft’s subscription service.

And while it’s not a day one game, Death’s Door was also added to Xbox Game Pass January 20. Death’s Door earned critical-acclaim at the time of its original release in 2021, standing out as one of the highest-rated new video game releases of all of last year. Death’s Door is the highest-rated new game added to Xbox Game Pass this past week, and anyone that has yet to play it should definitely consider giving it a shot through Game Pass.

This past week has been huge for Xbox Game Pass, but there’s still more for fans to look forward to later this month. January 27 will see the release of Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master to Game Pass across consoles and PC, serving as yet another day one game added to the service.
