There are many reasons that an Xbox gamer might want to sign up for the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Signing up for Xbox Game Pass gets users instant access to well over 100 games, ranging from classic Xbox games to more recent titles, including day one releases. The Xbox Game Pass day one games are arguably the main reason why anyone would sign up, as it lets subscribers play brand new games the very day that they come out.
The past couple of months have been huge for Xbox Game Pass day one games. November was headlined by Forza Horizon 5, and this month of course saw the full launch of Halo Infinite, letting fans check out its open world campaign and addicting multiplayer. There are still more day one Xbox Game Pass games set to be added to the lineup before the year is out, with two titles coming to Game Pass later this week, in fact.

On Tuesday, December 14 Among Us is coming to Xbox Game Pass as a day one game. While Among Us has technically been available for other platforms for quite some time, it’s just now making its Xbox debut, so it still qualifies as a day one release. Among Us coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch should prove to be a big deal for the game, as it will help ensure that it has a built-in Xbox playerbase right off the bat.

December 14 will also see Aliens: Fireteam Elite come to Xbox Game Pass, though it’s not a day one game. But while Aliens: Fireteam Elite is not a day one Xbox Game Pass game, it’s still a notable addition to the service because it’s only a few months old at this point. Plus, the game is coming to Xbox Game Pass on the same day that it’s launching its Season 2 content and new paid DLC.
The second day one Xbox Game Pass game coming out this week is The Gunk, set to launch for Game Pass on Thursday, December 16. The Gunk is a third-person action-adventure sci-fi game where players are tasked with ridding a toxic substance from a bizarre alien planet. The Gunk is getting a native Xbox Series X release with its Xbox Game Pass debut as well, so those that have managed to get their hands on Microsoft’s next-generation console should have a lot to look forward to this week.
