As of Tuesday, March 22, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out Kraken Academy, Tainted Grail: Conquest, and Zero Escape: The Nonary Games. Kraken Academy is an RPG with a retro art style that first released for other platforms last year. However, since it’s just now available on Xbox, it still counts as a day one Xbox Game Pass game.

Tainted Grail: Conquest, meanwhile, is a unique fantasy RPG that combines classic RPG elements with deck-building gameplay. Whereas Kraken Academy earned somewhat mixed reviews when it first released for other platforms last year, Tainted Grail: Conquest has earned mostly positive reviews. Both games should appeal to RPG fans, though, so anyone interested in the genre should consider checking them out while they’re still available through the Xbox Game Pass service.

And finally, the third new game added to Xbox Game Pass on March 22 is Zero Escape: The Nonary Games. Zero Escape: The Nonary Games is the highest-profile new Xbox Game Pass game added on March 22. It’s a collection of visual novels that include the critically-acclaimed 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and its followup Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward. They’re two of the more well-regarded visual novel games out there, so any Xbox Game Pass subscribers looking for games with an engaging storyline may want to download Zero Escape: The Nonary Games as soon as possible.
These three games should make fine additions to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but it’s worth pointing out that there’s even more coming to the service later this week. Xbox Game Pass is adding another three games come March 24 in the form of narrative-driven A Memoir Blue, Norco (which will only be available to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers), and F1 2021. F1 2021 is coming to Xbox Game Pass through its EA Play integration, meaning that it will only be available to those that are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so fans should keep that in mind.

From July 21, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out MotoGP 22 across the cloud, consoles, and PC, while Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is available for PC Game Pass subscribers to play. The third and final new Xbox Game Pass game added on July 21 is Torment: Tides of Numenera, which is available to play on the cloud, consoles, and PC. Out of these, Torment: Tides of Numenera has the highest review scores, though MotoGP 22 earned mostly positive reviews as well and is relatively new, having just launched in this past April.

July 21 marks the last big day for Xbox Game Pass this month, but there is one more update on the way before August rolls around. Come July 29, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to the addition of Inside. An atmospheric side-scroller from Playdead Studios, Inside earned widespread critical acclaim at the time of its launch in 2016, and so it should make a great addition to the Xbox Game Pass lineup when it’s added next week.

This past week has been a big one for Xbox Game Pass. Besides the three games that were added today, Xbox Game Pass subscribers were also treated to two games earlier in the week in the form of As Dusk Falls and Watch Dogs 2, both available to play across the cloud, consoles, and PC. As Dusk Falls is a narrative-driven game where the story changes based on player choice. Watch Dogs 2, meanwhile, is the latest Ubisoft game to join the Game Pass lineup, following in the footsteps of titles like Assassin’s Creed Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition.
Late next week or early the following week, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should get the scoop on the new Xbox Game Pass games for August 2022. But while Microsoft has yet to reveal all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2022, previous announcements have let fans know of a few of them, like Two Point Campus on August 9, Midnight Fight Express on August 23, and Sam Barlow’s Immortality on August 30.

Of course, Game Pass titles are constantly being added to the service, with three more joining today, one currently scheduled for July 12, five more on July 14, one on July 19, and one on July 26. Of course, while more games will no doubt be announced around the midway point of the month, July 5 proves new games could drop at any moment. There doesn’t seem to be any surprise games today, but three new games on Game Pass is always welcome.

On July 7, DJMax Respect V, Matchpoint: Tennis Championships, and Road 96 all join the Game Pass library. Matchpoint is only coming to the console version of Xbox Game Pass, while the other two will also be available on PC and Cloud. DJMax Respect V is a rhythm game complete with full HD music videos, multiplayer, new game mode for the franchise, and more, complete with popular artists like Marshmello.
Matchpoint: Tennis Championships is, unsurprisingly, a tennis game. It boasts modern features, with a true-to-life court experience, deep career mode, rivalry system, and tactical positioning and aiming realism. Meanwhile, Road 96 is based on a road trip, focused on exciting places, unusual people, and world-changing choices. Road 96 boasts “thousands of routes” to personalize the adventure.
As aforementioned, several more games are scheduled for the next few days too, but fans should also be aware that several games are leaving later this month. Atomicrops, Carrion, Children of Morta, Cris Tales, and Lethal League Blaze all leave Xbox Game Pass on July 15. They can all be purchased at a discount now, but there’s a strong case to at least try to play several of these before they leave, perhaps especially Carrion, Children of Morta, and Cris Tales.
No matter what, though, Xbox Game Pass additions always outpace those leaving, as the first half of this month is adding 14 games and only losing 5. IT remains to be seen, but the second half of Xbox Game Pass in July 2022 will likely be very similar.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers get a handful of free games every month.
