To start, there were two brand-new indie games announced during the show that are already confirmed to be Day One releases for Xbox Game Pass. The first is a new game from auteur Sam Barlow named Immortality. Barlow’s known for games including Telling Lies and Her Story that feature live-action footage and Immortality will be no different. The second game is named Escape Academy and as its name implies, it’s a first-person escape room experience. It’s also confirmed to support two-player online co-op.

In addition to the two newly announced games, there are five previously announced indie games that are now confirmed to be Xbox Game Pass releases for 2022. To start, there is a trio of games coming from publisher Fellow Traveler, who also launched Paradise Killer on Xbox consoles and Game Pass today. Those three games are magical school sim Kraken Academy, adventure game Beacon Pines which is equal parts cute and creepy, and sci-fi narrative RPG Citizen Sleeper. Kraken Academy arrives March 22, with the two others’ release dates TBD.
That leaves two more games coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2022. The first is cybernoir adventure game Chinatown Detective Agency from Humble Games, with a release date TBD, and Floppy Knights. Floppy Knights mixes tactics combat with deck building in a charming, cartoon wrapper.
Suffice to say, Xbox has partnered with a range of exciting developers and publishers to offer a diverse selection of titles through 2022. And these are just seven new additions confirmed with Xbox Game Pass. There’s already a line-up of exciting Xbox Game Pass releases previously announced, and plenty more announcements month by month throughout the rest of the year.
Other Xbox Game Pass games featured during today’s ID@Xbox Showcase include the recently revealed Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, from the developer of Ashen, Crusader Kings 3, which launches on Xbox Game Pass on March 29, and hints at more. For those anxious to play some great indie games after today’s ID@Xbox event, don’t forget that both Tunic and Paradise Killer are available now on both PC and console Xbox Game Pass.
