We’ve known since before the game was out that Deathloop’s PS5 exclusivity was good for one full year. Deathloop launched on September 14, 2021, so next month marks the one-year anniversary of its PS5 release date. Presumably, this means that Deathloop could technically be ported to Xbox Series X at any point after September 14, meaning it’s quite possible that Game Pass subscribers will be treated to the game as a day one release sooner rather than later.

Even though we’re close to Deathloop’s PS5 exclusivity window closing, there hasn’t been any announcements made about the game’s potential Xbox port. It’s possible that’s part of the deal made with Sony, though finer details like that aren’t known at this time. In any case, Deathloop should be a huge get for Game Pass whenever it does finally come to the service, as it was one of the most critically-acclaimed games released last year and is in fact one of the highest-rated PS5 titles to date.
Deathloop reviews were very flattering, with high praise for the game’s unique time loop gameplay and Arkane’s signature style of first-person shooting action. It’s certainly worth the purchase at full price, so being able to play the game through Xbox Game Pass is going to be a steal. The question remains, though, whether Deathloop will be one of the new Xbox Game Pass games for September 2022, or if Microsoft is going to sit on the game a little longer.
Deathloop would be a great way to spice up the new Xbox Game Pass games for September 2022, but it’s possible Microsoft will want to wait and release it at a later date so that it has more time to properly promote it. Perhaps the Deathloop Xbox port announcement will come shortly after the PS5 exclusivity window ends in September, and the game itself will launch in October or November.
All of this is just speculation at this time. We can’t say for certain how Microsoft plans on rolling out the Deathloop Xbox port, but we do know that whenever the game does launch, it will almost certainly do so as a day one Xbox Game Pass game.
Deathloop is available now for PC and PS5.
