Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy takes the concept of escape rooms - where players have to use clues and solve puzzles to free themselves - and turned it into a video game. The game shows a lot of promise, as it will also feature co-op, allowing friends to put their brains together to solve puzzles. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get to experience it when it launches in July, as it will be available on the service.

What Is Escape Academy?

Escape Academy is a puzzle and strategy game that takes players to the eponymous Escape Academy where they will learn to become the ultimate escapist. The game has a narrative to guide the player along their path of becoming a trained escape artist, and there will be several classes to attend where players can sharpen their skills. Coin Crew Games’ co-creator, Wyatt Bushnell, is uniquely qualified to preside over Escape Academy because he has experience with designing real-world escape rooms and attractions for various amusement parks and arcades.

Escape Academy will feature over a dozen rooms featuring mind-bending puzzles to exercise gamers’ brains, and co-op gameplay is available both online and locally. The game has faced a few delays, but gamers will finally get to experience it on July 13 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Reviews thus far have been glowing, with The Verge calling it “one of the most charming and timely entries” of the year, while Game Informer claims that it leaves one “feeling like a genius” once the player unravels its yarn balls of secrets. For gamers who love to play puzzle games or are looking for some co-op fun, Escape Academy is not to be missed.

Other Xbox Game Pass Games Coming in July

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can expect more than just Escape Academy, however, and a few other great games are on the way. Already Far Cry 5 has been made available, which brings the explosive fun the series is known for. On July 5, three Yakuza games, namely Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2, have also hit the subscription service, providing a perfect way for players to dip their toes into the series if they have not already. Other titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in July include the following.

Matchpoint - Tennis Championships - July 7 Road 96 - July 7 My Friend Peppa Pig - July14 PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls - July 14 PowerWash Simulator - July 14

It is another good month for Xbox Game Pass, especially for fans of the Yakuza series. However, players should not let Escape Academy fall by the wayside, as it is a game that has been a long time in the making, and promises to be an engaging puzzle game. Hopefully, its day one release on Xbox Game Pass will help it reach a wide audience.

Escape Academy releases on July 13, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
