Xbox Game Pass has certainly been making waves recently. Xbox recently confirmed that Game Pass Ultimate will soon have the added benefit of the upcoming Project xCloud allowing players to not only have access to a huge library of games but to also be able to take said games with them on the go with their smartphones.

As the old phrase goes though, “out with old, in with the new,” as Xbox made its announcement about which games will be leaving Game Pass at the end of July. These titles include RiME, The Banner Saga 3, and Ashes Cricket. The Banner Saga 3 seems to be the biggest loss of the group, with many considering it to be the best in the series and a strong finisher for The Banner Saga as a whole.

While these titles’ exit may not be as big or impactful as Metal Gear Solid 5’s from a few days ago, it is still sad to see games leave the service for one reason or another. Games leaving the service is a fairly common occurrence that players are used to by now. Much like Netflix, games could leave Xbox Game Pass for a variety of reasons, but primarily it’s from the end of a previously agreed upon end date.

Overall, Xbox Game Pass has been a tremendous hit for Xbox. Considering its constantly adding titles like Carrion and Golf With Your Friends on a regular basis, it’s no wonder that despite Xbox’s revenue was down for the second quarter during the 2020 fiscal year, Game Pass was able to mitigate some of that loss with an increase in service spending by players. It’s just too bad that games can’t just stay on the service forever.
