For the longest time, the Persona games have been PlayStation console exclusives and trapped on old hardware. Atlus has finally decided to bring Persona to more platforms, with the award-winning Persona 5 Royal joining Xbox Game Pass last year. Now that RPG fans have had plenty of time to check out Persona 5 Royal through their Game Pass subscription, Atlus has released Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden to the masses.

Persona 3 Portable originally released for Sony’s PSP handheld in 2010, offering various enhancements when compared to the original PS2 version of the game. It’s the game that really started the Persona franchise on its winning streak, amassing an impressive 89 overall rating on review aggregate site Metacritic. Persona 4 Golden, meanwhile, earned even higher praise from its. Originally released for the PlayStation Vita, Persona 4 Golden has an impressive 93 overall rating on Metacritic and is in fact one of the highest-rated video games of all time.

In usual Persona fashion, both Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are massive games that will take a considerable time investment to complete. Anyone hoping to fully complete Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will have to invest hundreds of hours to do so, the games add significant value to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Needless to say, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should be getting their money’s worth and then some when it comes to the Persona games.
The addition of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden to Xbox Game Pass means that subscribers to the service can play all three of the latest Persona games. This will undoubtedly create new Persona fans on Xbox, so it will be interesting to see if the inevitable Persona 6 is a multi-platform release out of the gate, or if it is a PlayStation console exclusive for a period of time like its predecessors.
